I know no-one goes on here anymore, so this is probably just me impotently shaking my fist at a cynical god of football who couldn't give a rat's Rs about what I think, but what the HELL is going on with our club?
We just seem to be turning into Newcastle United only without the grounds for optimism, managerial stability or the amusing Geordie accents.
Adrian Edmundson looky-likey Brian Gunn has been treated SOOOOOOOOO shabbily. OK, I was unconvinced that he was the right man for the job, and always knew that his long and loyal association with NCFC would come to an end sooner rather than later, but WTF? Rather than get rid of him in May when his temporary contract was at an end, they employ him permanently and give him the summer to build HIS team, a team I actually think has some potential (if it's possible to put the small matter of a 1-7 reverse to one side for a second...).
A promising pre-season, an unforgiveable (admittedly) debacle against Colchester, then apparently back on track against the mighty Yeovil. Then he's just sacked. Brian Gunn, of all people, one of the best servants this club has ever had.
I thought that if at least the board could sort out a decent replacement I could understand this move. And who do we get, some bloke I've never heard of from Colchester. A man whose biggest achievement in football management so far has been plotting the biggest home defeat ever of the very team he has now (insanely) decided to manage.
And what must Lambert be expecting in the way of loyalty from our board, given the loyalty Gunn got? Just like Newcastle, you'd have to be MENTAL and/or UTTERLY STUPID to agree to manage NCFC at the moment.
I'm THAT angry I've a mind to write a strongly worded letter to The Daily Mail, so I am.
