NCFC Alphabet - A

I thought that we could do something a bit different to while away the long (hopefully) hot summer. If we go for one every few days then it shoudl take us almost up to the start of the season again!

Basically for each letter of the alphabet you think of something related to the club, in the instance of it being a person it is the surname that counts, and give a short description...

So starting with A...

Abbey, Zema - striker now playing for Halesowen Town. Signed from Cambridge for £350k in Dec 2000. He made 57 appearances and scored 7 goals. Two knee injuries curtailed his career in yellow

Anselin, Cedric - midfielder now playing for Dereham Town. Signed from Lille for £250k in summer 1999 after a loan spell with the club.

My sisters housemate went out with Cedric Anselin for a few months! True Fact!

He missed France apparently so god knows what he makes of Dereham!

Abbey Road - NOT Carrow Road (helpful definition, huh)

Arsenal - that foul by Lauren on Hucks, as last man, should've been a red card. boll0x to the excuse from the ref that a previous foul had been committed... the whistle hadn't gone so as far as the players were concerned it was normal play.

Probably wouldn't have made a difference to the result but we were only down 1-0 at the time so who knows...

Ashton, Dean: Currently with West Ham Utd, England international. Holds the lub record for the biggest transfer fee received for a single player (over £7.25 million. Or something similar) Scored 7 goals in the Premiership, including goals against Newcastle and Manchester United. Ah, memories!

good one huc. unfortunately i can't think of any serious ones yet, still sticking to silly additions... a la Blackadder's attempt to re-write the dictionary in a certain episode. Anyway, here's my latest useless entry:

Australia - nationality of a girl i met recently who, on arriving in the UK, ended up in Ips**t for TWO YEARS before making it to London. Poor thing.

Allen, Malcolm. 5 goal hero vs the mighty Sutton Utd, back in the days when we could win a cup tie :(

Cedric Anselin is now married to the step-daughter of the guy I sit next to at work.

This is why he is still living locally. She is very close to her parents and didn't want to move to France.

Can't say I blame her.
