Well I think this is DAFT idea.

As if football isn't expensive enough as it is for most supporters....yeah great idea, stage a couple of matches a season in Japan....

i like the comment on 606 that goes "Who in Chicago is going to want to watch Wigan vs Derby?" with the response "Who in England wants to watch Wigan vs Derby?"

Well that's the point, the only clubs who stand to benefit are the big ones, and even their supporters won't be able to afford it. But then again this has nothing to do with football supporters, it's just the FA trying to market the Premiership as a global brand. Tsk indeed.

Do you reckon that City will come and play in Dunfermline if they get promoted and this happens?

I might get to a game then... :-(

It's a blimming joke...

Things that gall me are that the top 5 will be seeded to avoid each other.

Can you imagine after this 39 game season finishing third bottom on goal difference having had Chelsea in the 'extra match' while the team in 17th have the same points but had to play Bolton...

FFS.

*is ragey about this*

I mean are there ANY football authorities out there who do any sort of analysis before announcing these flipping hare-brained schemes??!!

Are there??

Of course the humourous thing is that Mawhinney will probably do some terrible 'not quite so good' version for the championship and Plymouth v Colchester will be played in Rhyl...

How about another idea? If clubs WANT to play some matches abroad they can do so if they want, and then their fans and anyone else who wants to go along can do so. My idea would be that these games should not count for anything competitively, but they would be useful as "showcases".

I would call these games "Pre-season Friendlies".

What do you think? Good dragons den idea or what?
