Does Ozzie Ardilles count?

In addition to winning the Woild Cup with those cheating, diving, Falkland Island invading Argentinians, he also played for Spurs.

He also memorably sang the poignant line "In da Cup fer Totten-Hum" in the Spurs FA cup final song one year.

What is my prize?

I don't care if it's only a speedboat.

As long as it's not a pesky George Formby griddle....he should have stuck to his ukelelle and saucy ditties about window cleaners and left the business of grilling meat to REAL men, as far as I am concerned.

turned out nice again

Apparently George Formby was also a BOXER, and famously complained of indigestion before a bout with Mohamed Ali, the notorious "Rumble in the Jungle". In the actual fight George managed to batter Ali round the head with his ukelelle before succumbing to a knock out blow in the second round.

My grasp on sporting trivia is at best tenuous.

F**k... one of mine must have been wrong cos I've just looked at Bernie's list and seen Wigan on there!!

I thought Notts. Co were there but now think that may have been the season before when they spent a season in there with Warnock at the helm...

Patrick said...

OOOOOOh, get him, he's even done it alphabetically and that.

Ravanelli (Boro) - did he play in the 94 final?

[schmindie] said...

If caley is going without revealing the answers i'm going to be sulking this evening... i hate stuff like this being up in the air ;-))

[schmindie] said...

unless the first one's a trick and someone in the prem got to the tiddlywinks world cup final... hmmmm

Patrick said...

I hate to say this Schmindie, but a number of your premiership world cup finalists WERE playing for cureent top four sides when they played in the WC for eg Harmann was with Deh Pool, Anelka with Arse etc

[schmindie] said...

Ah, Ardilles is a fab call btw ITB. Would Ricardo Villa be there as well?

[schmindie] said...

Ah, but ITB, that's not what the question says ;-)

Read the rubric boy ;-)

Patrick said...

have you seen on the BBC site? There's a bloke charged with murdering a model, and his defense is that she was already dead when he found her in the street...so he naturally thought there would be no harm done if he then had sex with the body....

EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Patrick said...

Oswaldo was almost certainly old stylee First Division rather than premiership, though.

[schmindie] said...

that's horrific :(

[schmindie] said...

think you're right there itb - shall i turn the rubric statement back on myself ;-)

Patrick said...

Haveing posed his question, I reckon Caley just got bored and wondered off, so I don't reckon we'll ever get answers....

"I'm not a murderer, I'm a necro-phile!" Great defense. The stupid thing is now he'll almost certainly get sent down for both.
