For NB and all the other skeptics out there....

I suppose you're going to tell me that the ghosts regularly seen on Scooby Doo are all "camera tricks" too?

... and I would have got away with it too, if it hadn't been for those pesky meddling kids...

Sorry, had to be done.

Schmindie, Punka, which albumn misquotes this famous line as

"... and I would have got away with it too, if it hadn't been for those b*stard b*stard meddling kids.."

Cud, When in Rome Kill Me.

"That was Bibi....she was myopic"

Greta, great band.

Patrick I'm IMPRESSED. I didn't think that sort of thing was your bag!

Great album and simply the best band live.

*miffed that NB thinks I am insufficiently groovy to know the answer*

*totally knew the answer but unfortunately itb got in there first*

Indeed...Carl Putman, possibly THE most underrated vocalist of the early nineties.

I used to go see Cud quite a bit, usually when they were supporting bans like Wedding Present and The Family Cat...but they quickly became a preffered band.

Shame they never really made it. They wer always seen as a bit of joke band, weren't they? Probably has something to do with the way Putman used to camp it up. Once I went to see them and they had this little sequinned entrance just for him, and he came out about three times with different loud outfits on.

Sorry Patrick, I just would have thought Cud was too cheerful for you. I remember you're a Joy Division fan...

Natural Blonde said...

Was that a UEA gig Patrick? I remember Carl changing quite often at one of those. i think it was the Asquarius tour..

Cud played Glastonbury last year... pop fact for the day!

Natural Blonde said...

Depressingly for us wumuf, you'd have been at Primary School at this point...

*bigs up those born in the mid 80s*

chesney hawkes anyone?

Patrick said...

Can't remember... I saw them about four times in all, and think saw them at Camden Underworld on that tour.

I DO like early 80's miserabilist post-punk stuff, but ALSO love a lot of later non-miserablist indie and dance stuff

Its all about the born in the 70s this week you young wipper snapper!

Natural Blonde said...

I never got the miserablist vibe really, but I can see why people think its good.

I was always more of a jangly pop fan.

wumuf, I sat my O-levels in the mid eighties :-(

Wumus, when I went skiing in Val D'Isere earlier Chesney did a gig in Dicks T Bar. Apparently he does a gig there every year, and it's always REALLY popular, and (amazingly) with younger people.

Really can't see it myself.

Natural Blonde said...

I never got the Chesney thing either Patrick.

*goes an sits in the old gits corner*

wms said...

what are o levels? ;)

i used to love chesney, though jason donovan was my first crush..

Natural Blonde said...

Proper exams, young lady, proper exams...

wms said...

ooooh i know, exams are a lot easier now aren't they?!
i took my gcses in 2000!

Natural Blonde said...

LOL thats what they tell us every year yup. This is based on the fact that.... um.....well... its not like it used to be is it? Not in the old days. No. With the beatings and all that. The good old days. Bring back the cane! And the O-level. That'll teach you young hoodies...

I got my MA in 2000. TSK.

Patrick said...

"...proper exams....beatings at school...institutionalised violence...they GIVE degrees away these days....young hooligans...drug addicts....national service UUMPH!"

*nurse stuffs soggy rich tea biscuit in mouth to shut up*

Natural Blonde said...

Patrick and NB in grumpy old folk shocker...

wms said...

*tucks her degree away in a safe place and vows never to be pleased with it again*

i for one would have benefitted from the odd caning ;)

wms said...

Natural Blonde said...

Sorry to disappoint you guys with the ripped up sheets and hot towels, but its all about the tens machine these days...

*cue NB's Mum muttering about 'they didn't have all this stuff in my day'*

Natural Blonde said...

HUC - I blinking hope so. It hurts!
