Is it delayed action sympathy Patrick? Chalky has been dead for a year - check the date of the story.

;-)

What? No-one told ME!

Why is it only on the Beeb site now?

*worries if other celebrity pets might have died in last year but not been put on Beeb site*

News takes a long time to travel from deepest Cornwall ;-)

Here's another cute but slightly tragic animal story

I wouldn't really mind if that little rat/dog the ghastly Paris Hilton was carrying around with her as an accessory carked it, if for no other reason than to make it rain or her parade just a little bit.

I think the whole thing of wild animals being kept in zoos to start with is tragic and horrible.

Keep a polar bear in a small cage and then wonder why it starts behaving dysfunctionally, even to its own young.

Quite so Partick - I'm largely anti-zoo myself, especially for bigger creatures like bears.

The Hilton 'dog' is as disturbing to look at as the Hilton herself.

Give me a proper pooch any day, like a nice bordie collie!

You see I'm definitely ambivalent about Paris. I most DEFO would, as long as I dodn't have to talk to her or experience any part of her ghastly personality.

Does that make me shallow?

Proper pooches rock. I suppose it's not a lapdog's fault it is a lapdog, and they have as much right to live as other dogs...it's just they are not proper...DOGS....they don't bark (they yap) they can't go for proper walks (have to be carried) they probably can't even pick up a stick, let alone run after one and bring it back and they are RUBBISH at terrorising postmen.

As long as Lassie's holding on in there, I don't mind.
