1. When the current Toon management team lose favour with the board (some time around mid Feb would be my guess) Wise will be cast into the football wilderness.
2. The Leeds promotion push, which seemed to have acquired juggernaut momentum before Xmas, will now almost certainly slow to a standstill before starting to roll BACK down the hill it has spent all season charging up.
I reckon that with some astute tactical tinkering, some shrewd signings, all of Keegans's experience and perhaps a bit of luck, Newcastle have all the ability to finish the season as high as 12th in the league. Possibly even lower.
It's such an own goal for Toon, because I think most neutral fans would previously always wish them well over established top four sides, until their board started showing this unpleasant ruthless side and these weird delusions of grandeur. You just sense that the footballing groundswell of opinion has sort of turned against them, and now everyone wishes them ill.

He looks as if he's riding a bucking bronco.
This is good news on two counts:-
Quite - so who's going to manage Leeds now then do we reckon? Who's out of work at the mo? Or will they poach somebody?
Alan Shearer? Or maybe Jose Mourinho? Or perhaps Sam Allerdyce?
Oh god...*yawns*
*slides into coma at mere thought of yet another session of management musical chairs*
Big Sam to Leeds! Genius Patrick - get down the bookies now...
Maybe they're setting him up as a scapegoat so that their beloved Kev won't take the flack when they don't win the quadruple this season...
I think you're being unduly pessimistic, Mambo.
Newcastle are currently lying 12th in the league.

Haha.
£10 says they're stuck with Dave Bassett till the end of the season.
Ha.
Double Ha.
This is such a great story, it gives us the chance to laugh at Newcastle AND Leeds at the same time.
Nowt good will come of it, as they say oop North...

And it's their OWN FAULT
They're saying Gary McCallister is favourite. I'd have thought they're go for Paul Ince but Southampton are reportedly after him.
