On the subject of the story itself however, typical press hype. Whe they say 'standards of maternity care are failing women' which was the headline on the radio this morning, actually 4/5 trusts were doing at least a satisfactory job, with plenty of those good and very good. Bloody press hype. My midwife is a fantastic person, nothing is too much trouble and I have had brilliant care throughout. So there.

Mambo! Shame on you! I think Mrs B's puppies are bigger than that!
She plays keepy-uppy with her funbags using her knees is what I heard.

She's obviously not around this arvo. She's probably snoozing. (Again)
Which emboldens me:-

Eek!
My sister had her baby in the N&N, and was told to "stop making a fuss" by the duty midwife while in labour.
My sister was not in too much pain to let her views be known....
Well quite. You'd think that midwifes would be prepared for the old bit of fuss given the issue at hand (well not at hand, a bit further down)
I suppose a lady midwife might just about get away with it....imagine what would happen if a male midwife (midhusband?) offered that advice.....
"Ah pull yourself together! Stop exaggerating! I caught a cricket ball in the gonads once, now THAT hurts, etc etc etc"
I should think his gonads would be a thing of the past in fairly short order..
